Why Is My Current Address Important?

Your current address helps connect first responders and emergency personnel with your care information when you need help.

If your organization participates in the VIF/Nexgen network, the process works like this:

  1. The dispatcher enters an address when an emergency call comes in.

  2. That address is sent to VIF to check for a matching record.

  3. If a match is found, VIF provides your latest care information to the dispatcher, who can share it with responding emergency personnel to help guide your care.

Keep your current address accurate and complete, including your apartment or building number, if applicable. Update it whenever you move so VIF can match your information to the address provided during an emergency.
